Thanks to Matus Novotny for this one. He actually went through and found all of these for me and he is the one who discovered their origins. To become a Magician you have to study. Initially you studied with one Magician as an apprentice. Now in Verngaurd there is an Academy of Magic with multiple levels of training churning out lots of Magicians. Each Master Magician has a crosier (a wooden staff with mindre or lesser magical crystal). They learn a series of enchantments to unleash the magic from the crystals. The mindre crystals eventually run out of magic and have to be regenerated with the Macht or Power Crystals. The Regenerator. The five pairs of power crystals are placed in here and "incubated" with the lesser mindre crystals to "recharge" them. Here are all the enchantments used in the trilogy and an explanation:adtonitus: (is Latin-lightning): single bolts of lightning strike out at victim.
